A+E Networks Japan and the History Channel Japan aired Episode 1 of “Defending Japan” Season 2 in November 26, 2023. Former U.S. Forces Japan commander, Lt. Gen. (Retired) Jerry P. Martinez is the host for Season 2. Defending Japan is a co-production of A.B.E. and A+E Networks Japan.

Juju Racing Against Destiny

This documentary film profiles the true life of Japanese teenager female Formula driver, Juju Noda. This film is also a touching father daughter story of Juju, who was 18 years old at that time, and her father Hideki Noda, a former F1 racer! The story follows Juju’s attempt to make history as Japan’s first female F-1 race car driver and follows her through a series of races in Japan and Europe. In November 2024, this film had world premiere at the film festival “Global Stage Hollywood” in Hollywood, USA.

Undaunted:The Story of Jane Aiko Yamano

AURORA BOREALIS ENTERTAINMENT unveiled its documentary movie, “Undaunted: The Story Of Jane Aiko Yamano,” at the inaugural “Global Stage Hollywood 2022” (GSH) Film Festival, October 28, 2022. The film explores the extraordinary tale of Japan beauty care icon Aiko Yamano and her successor, Jane Aiko Yamano, who runs the Yamano Beauty College in Japan. The documentary also looks at Jane’s hands on approach to the Yamano beauty industry empire and the various projects she gets involved in to further that empire. “Undaunted” captured “Special Selection” honors for the best documentary at GSH.

Biography

AURORA BOREALIS ENTERTAINMENT (A.B.E.) is currently in talks with A+E Networks Japan to produce additional episodes of the History Channel Japan’s “Biography” series. A.B.E. produced several episodes of the program in its inaugural season, profiling such Japanese luminaries as fashion designer Junko Koshino and astronaut Koichi Wakata.

Love Janet

“Love Janet – Japan’s Enduring Affection For Pop Idol Jackson.” This original documentary marks the third time Executive Producer Dan Smith has chronicled the life of one of the members of the famous Jackson musical clan. Smith produced two documentaries on Janet’s brother, the King of Pop Michael Jackson, that aired on FOX International Channels Japan and some U.S. distributors “There is always an interesting angle in looking at the enormous impact members of the Jackson family had on their Japanese fans,” he explained in talking about the project in the Producer’s Blog segment of “Backstage Pass.”

Do You Want To Live Forever?

AURORA BOREALIS ENTERTAINMENT did location planning, casting and production support in Tokyo and Okinawa for the Japan episode of the Australian new documentary program “Do You Want To Live Forever?” on Channel 9 and 9Now.
Esteemed journalist Tracy Grimshaw and medical expert Dr Nick Coatsworth are the hosts. From billion-dollar breakthroughs to simple secrets, Tracy and Nick will travel the globe, visiting the blue zones – regions known for their high concentrations of centenarians – to investigate scientific advances in ageing and discover the latest developments in longevity.

The Real Housewives of Sydney

AURORA BOREALIS ENTERTAINMENT was contracted by NBCUniversal Asia and Matchbox Pictures, to do Japan location planning and production support for the reboot of its, “The Real Housewives of Sydney” reality series. It is the third time the “Real Housewives” franchise has filmed in Japan, with both the “The Real Housewives of Atlanta” and the “The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills” previously filming an episode in Japan. The Real Housewives of Sydney Season 2 debuted on October 10, 2023. Viewers were able to watch the episodes where the cast visited Japan in Episode 8 (in November 28, 2023) and Episode 9 (in December 5, 2023).

AXNAllstars
AURORA BOREALIS ENTERTAINMENT (A.B.E.) was commissioned by AXN Singapore to film in Japan in talent profile for the 2021 season episode. A.B.E. filmed an episode featuring magician Cyril Takayama and comedian YumboDump. The show featured the best performers from AXN Singapore’s audition show “Asia’s Got Talent”.

Asia’s Got Talent
AXN Singapore also commissioned A.B.E. to shoot behind-the-scenes footage of three Japanese performers competing in the final finals in November 2019. A.B.E. filmed in Osaka, Fukushima and Tokyo. The performers filmed were dancer YuiYui (Osaka), magician Takumi Takahashi (Tokyo), and dance group Fabulous Sisters (Fukushima).

AURORA BOREALIS ENTERTAINMENT was commissioned by NBCUniversal Asia to produce the highly popular celebrity news program. The E! News Zone segments filmed in Japan and Korea were distributed on dTV and E! News Asia..

“Canada-Japan Friendship Concert: Featuring Randy Bachman and TAKESHI” organized by Embassy of Japan in Canada (2022)

In 1977 guitarist and songwriter Randy Bachman was on top of the world. Having written hits like “American Woman” and “Takin’ Care Of Business” for his groups “The Guess Who” and “Bachman Turner Overdrive” he was touring in Canada when his cherished Gretsch guitar that he used to write his biggest hits was stolen. “Lost and Found” is the true story of his 45-year search to find his guitar which eventually led him to Japan. AURORA BOREALIS ENTERTAINMENT provided location scouting and production support for the documentary.

“W1SH RIBBON Discover and Connect the World” global campaign organized by Tokyo Skytree (2021)

Tokyo Skytree hosted the global campaign “W1SH RIBBON Discover and Connect the World” event in April 2021 in support of 2020 Tokyo Olympic. AURORA BOREALIS ENTERTAINMENT worked with photographer Leslie Kee as a special director. A new monument, “Tree of Hope,” was installed on the observation deck with the hope that it will become a symbol of hope for the world. An original song and music video were also created for the campaign.

Support in Japan of “Empire” Season 2 promotion (2015)

As a promotion for “Empire” Season 2 airing on FOX in Japan, Taraji P. Henson, who plays the main character Cookie, Jaci Smollett, who plays Jamal, and Brisha Gray, who plays Hakeem, visited Japan in December 2015 for promotion. For that occasion, AURORA BOREALIS ENTERTAINMENT organized and held promotional events at several U.S. military bases in Japan.

Support in Japan of “The Walking Dead” Season 4 promotion (2013)

In October 2013, 1,000 zombies invaded Tokyo Tower to promote “The Walking Dead” Season 4 on FOX. The 1,000 costumed zombies were from the Yamano Gakuen and its students, who provided a great deal of cooperation. AURORA BOREALIS ENTERTAINMENT, Executive Producer Daniel Smith created the event which made news around the world.

Support in Japan of “Battleship” Japan Premiere (2012)

In April 2012, AURORA BOREALIS ENTERTAINMENT, Executive Producer Daniel Smith organized a promotion event for the “Battleship” on board the aircraft carrier USS George Washington at the Yokosuka U.S. military base in Japan. Taylor Kitsch, who stars in the film, Tadanobu Asano, Rihanna, Brooklyn Decker, Alexander Skarsgård and a director Peter Berg attended.

Support in Japan of “I Am Legend” starring Will Smith Japan premiere (2007)

In December 2007, Will Smith visited Japan to promote his movie “I Am Legend”. AURORA BOREALIS ENTERTAINMENT, Executive Producer Daniel Smith organized a promotion at the Yokota Air Force Base in Japan. Will Smith was flown by military helicopter “Black Hawk” from the U.S. military base facility in Nishi-Azabu to Yokota. Will Smith also held a media conference inside the U.S. military facility in Nishi-Azabu.
